About Mrs. Burr
My name is Michele Burr. I received my bachelor of science degree in both elementary and special education from the University of Delaware. I also earned my master degree in educational administration from California State University, Northridge. I had the privilege of teaching in several states for 9 years as my husband was a Navy Pilot and we were transitioned every year or two. I was very fortunate to be able to take a hiatus from teaching for many years to stay home and raise my three boys. This is my third year back to full time teaching and it is going to be an awesome year! I am especially excited to be at Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School!
I have been married to my amazing husband for almost 25 years, and am a mother of three very active boys! My husband, Rich, attended the United States Naval Academy, then continued to serve our country as a Naval Aviator for 24 years. He currently works as a government employee aboard Pt. Mugu. My oldest son, Mitchell, is 18 and is currently attending the prep school at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. He loves to run and run and run. His dream is to be in the Olympics someday, but for now he is focused on his education and becoming an officer in the US Army. My middle son, Noah, turns 17 in October and he is a senior at Thousand Oaks High School He enjoys water polo and swimming and is an avid reader. His dream is to become a cardiologist. He is focusing on his academics and trying to decide where he will continue his education after high school. My youngest son, Ian, turns 14 in September and is a is a freshman at Thousand Oaks High School. He is very active in Boy Scouts and enjoys anything having to do with water. All three of my boys raise animals for 4-H and all are very dedicated to giving back to others with regular community service. Spending time with my family is my favorite past time! I also enjoy reading, traveling, gardening and cooking.
I believe all children have the ability to learn, which is stimulated by the environment of school. In room 5, I will provide a variety of techniques within the classroom that will allow for all students to interact and learn in a positive and consistent experience. I welcome and look forward to working along side of each and every family.
